Re: [iPad] Cracked screen

Wow, that certainly describes my brother too...although he did not drop his iPad;  he had downloaded his  Kitchen-aide mixer's manual into iBooks, and was reading the manual as he attempted a repair on the mixer.  The mixer tipped over and landed on the iPad.

However, it is worth a shot...thanks for the suggestion, Vickie!

My friend dropped his and the crack spread to be larger and sharp. He brought it back to an Apple store and told them what happened. He also explained that he was an avid Apple fan, owning and buying many of their products. Apple in turn replaced his with a brand new iPad!

Thing still works, but he asked me for ideas on where to go to get it repaired. Would he be best off to let Apple handle it? Or are there 3rd party solutions that might be cheaper.
