I agree. The iPad, for most people, does not require a JB. Everything works, and quite well. That said, when you do JB, you gain access to your system and you gain a large number of new abilities that make an un-jailbroken iDevice pale in comparison.
I JB for a very specific reason: to store files on MicroSD cards and Flash Drives. Also to apply themes and use iFile to create folders where I want or need them.
Like I said, before you JB, investigate. You might not need or want to JB.
