As someone said, on the iPad you can delete multiples with the Edit button on the subject list -- you even get to check each message as you choose them. Hugely handy for that account that keeps getting spammed.
But if you already have many deleted and just want to force them off, do it in iTunes sync window. There is a checkbox where you can make the app treat all Mail (or contacts, or calendar) data as a first-time sync, and it won't load that older stuff.

Hi everyone. I searched for this but cannot find the answer. Has anyone found a way to delete email from the inbox other than by touching each email? I have over 2,000 emails on this iPad and having to do that makes me want to scream. Is there a setting I am not aware of that gets rid of old mail automatically?
Thank you for any light you can shed on this.
