Re: [iPad] Sprint

My experiences with Verizon have been anything but good. They do have excellent coverage, and they were (maybe still are) the only carrier that got reception on DC's metro system.

Maybe their cell customer service is different, but dealing with FiOS or even landline phone service has been a nightmare for me.

Elaine.  Verizon customer service is not horrible.  Actually good.  If you get a newbie hang up and call back.  AT&T is good in large cities and interstates.  Poor service off the beaten path.  Verizon is good in large cities, interstates, and rural America.  Just look at the coverage maps.

Good luck.

My first inclination was to go directly through Apple, but for whatever reason ended up at the store. I will know next time. I have never had an issue like this before. Of course, I bought my first iPhone after they'd been out for awhile, so there wasn't a huge demand and everything was in stock.

I understand that, but I grew up with the adage that the customer us always right. I worked in retail five years and we had training on empathizing with your customer. Even if you couldn't help them, you made them feel like you at least understood and cared about their problem--not like they are a bother interrupting your day.

This thread is EXACTLY why, as much as possible, I gather whatever information I can from carrier websites and technical reviews and comparisons, and then deal AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE with Apple, and not directly with the carriers.
