Re: [iPad] Sprint

Well, I have my elderly parents who live with me and having only cellphones does not work for them. I'd love to get rid of the landline, but I do like having it as a back up. We have a bundled package with Internet and cable. I am looking at some alternatives, but it is unlikely that I'll give up the landline for the foreseeable future.

Haven't had landline phone for ten years.  Waste of money.

Nobody beats Verizon when it comes to coverage but AT&T is a close second that I could live with.

Elaine.  Verizon customer service is not horrible.  Actually good.  If you get a newbie hang up and call back.  AT&T is good in large cities and interstates.  Poor service off the beaten path.  Verizon is good in large cities, interstates, and rural America.  Just look at the coverage maps.

Good luck.

My first inclination was to go directly through Apple, but for whatever reason ended up at the store. I will know next time. I have never had an issue like this before. Of course, I bought my first iPhone after they'd been out for awhile, so there wasn't a huge demand and everything was in stock.

I understand that, but I grew up with the adage that the customer us always right. I worked in retail five years and we had training on empathizing with your customer. Even if you couldn't help them, you made them feel like you at least understood and cared about their problem--not like they are a bother interrupting your day.

This thread is EXACTLY why, as much as possible, I gather whatever information I can from carrier websites and technical reviews and comparisons, and then deal AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE with Apple, and not directly with the carriers.
