Someone suggested that I plug into my computer and use iTunes since I didn't enough space to do the update via my tablet and it worked. I only had 1.5 gigabytes on my tablet before the update. For me I had to do the download and update as separate actions. It took less than an hour to complete.
I am so thankful for the person on the list for this suggestion.
