Exactly -- probably not even Apple. So why is their number taken as being accurate while some of the members of this list are taken to task for merely commenting on their observations?

"Commenting on their observations" has not been criticized.
People have been "taken to task" for stating -- with no evidence to back it up -- that Apple is lying when they state that fewer than 1% of users are having this problem.
