I haven't seen any update messages for apps that don't exist on the iPad. If you're saying that they're showing up in iTunes, then you need to delete the apps there, because they are still tied to your Apple ID.

Starting with the first iPad, I have downloaded a ton of apps. Most of these were failed attempts to make the iPad useful, and the result is there are only four apps that ever get used. Even though I have deleted all the other apps on the iPad, Apple keeps sending me update notices for them. Is there any way to stop this? This iPad has never used iTunes. I would like to know when an update is available, but only for the four apps remaining.
