Oh yes, that is why I was surprised there was such an app in the first place, with the cooperation of the fAA. There is a disclaimer that the app is for entertainment.

When I was a kid my dad would take us to the El Monte (small local airport) Airport to watch the planes land and take off.  I have even taken ground school. There is a street here in El Segundo with benches even where people sit and watch the planes land and take off from LAX. I just like planes. Not a techie, just like to watch them. I like to think about the stories each plane is carrying, someone on to a new job, someone on an adventure, just daydreaming I guess.

Just beware when Homeland Security comes knocking on your door and wants
to know why you care about where each plane is in the air and what the
altitude is, etc. I'll bet that's why there's a 5 minute delay for U.S.
flights, so that it won't help people who want to do nasty things. :-)
