This isn't exactly accurate. You spend money if enough people commit
to paying a total amount of money that reaches or exceeds the dollar
amount requested by the project creator.
This doesn't guarantee that the project will move forward. The hope is
that the person will do as promised, but there is no guarantee of any
kind. .
