It sounds like a syncing problem. What songs/playlists do you have checked for iTunes to sync?

It was a combination of collections of music. They all disappeared after I upgraded my iPad to IOS6. I also updated my Mac, which had an iTunes update, but my songs still don't show up. I then synced my iPad to the Mac, and still no joy.

Where did the music come from originally? Did you rip it from CDs your
owned? Did you buy it from iTunes or Amazon?
How did you restore the device after the upgrade to iOS 6? From iCloud
or iTunes?
