Every once in a while it hits me how incredible the maps, gps, instant directions from point a to b really are.  And here we are complaining because the system isn't perfect!  Let's not lose sight of the fact that a few short years ago all we had were paper maps.  Remember trying to navigate in a darkened car relying on them?  (led to a lot of driver/navigator conflict in my family.)

Perhaps remembering the bad old days will make us all a little more tolerant and patient with imperfections in current apps, Apple's included.  Personally I have had good luck with Mapquest for driving and walking.   Other folks have their favorites.  I have only experimented briefly with the new iOS 6 Maps.  I think Apple's system will ultimately kick some serious butt.  Until then, use another app if the new Maps is deficient in your area.

And think back to wrestling with paper maps. (Shudder)  I guarantee you'll feel better.  :-)
