But as a retailer I don't hear stories from my sales reps of Home Depot, Lowe's of Staples starting with a wholesale supplier as Walmart does and then after a few years when the company is now dependant on Walmart, Walmart demanding a lower price so low that the wholesale supplier either has to devalue their product or go out of business.

Most certainly Home Depot puts the Mom and Pop stores out of business. When the Mom and Pop store is gone, there's no where else to shop, at least in my area. I'm also a Target shopper.
