Then don't delete them from the camera roll. It's an "all my files". Ignore it. Focus instead on albums...

I can handle duplicates which I consider back up files and delete the dupes info not want. What I do not like about the iPad photo handling is that after you import photos via CCK, if you delete one, it is deleted everywhere even if you have organized them into albums.
