It seems a lot of people would like the iPad to function like a MacBook Air without a physical keyboard. Wouldn't Apple have to make the iPad thicker to allow USB connector? At this point thinner and lighter appears to be the direction they're shooting for. I guess we'll see when the 4th generation iPad comes out, probably next year.

If deleting apps is always going to delete the app data, I can't see a thumb drive helping the situation. I think the iTunes backup and syncing needs a rework so that I can swap out some of my huge apps.

It would be nice if the new iPad would at least be able to use a thumb drive.then there may not be a need to have a bigger HD for awhile.
