When the iPad is hooked up to sync, go to the 'info' tab, scroll down to see
'Other' and check 'sync bookmarks' to either Safari or IE.
You will see the bookmarks list at the top left of the screen -- looks like
a little book! -- touch it to get a drop-down list, with folders & lists of
bookmarks.
You can also create a new bookmark on the iPad by touching the little
box-with-arrow up at the left & choosing 'add bookmark'; you can change the
name suggested, put in a different folder in the bookmarks list, etc. right
from there.
Another useful thing to do in Safari on the iPad is to put a few
really-top-favorite-sites as bookmarks on the 'bookmarks bar' --
right therehandy at the top of the screen.

Subject: [iPad] how do you sync favorites to ipad and other help requested
Hi all! My dad just purchased an ipad a few weeks ago and I am trying to
help him with it. He is 80 and is having a lot of trouble getting it to do
what he wants it to do. The biggest thing he is unhappy about is it doesn't
have "Favorites" which he uses all of the time on his laptop.
