The Gmail app is good. The experience is more similar to what you get on a computer. There is a menu button that allows you to do a lot of different functions (always there with all apps, one of the things I miss on iPad). You can easily star an email. The list of emails (with a few lines of each one) takes up the whole screen and when you pick one, that email takes up the whole screen. You tap on the person's email to collapse that one so the next one in the thread shows, or you can just page down till you see the next email in the thread.
Of course there are things I like about iOS better too.  I am really enjoying my iPad a lot, and as I learn to navigate I will like it even more.

Gmail has an app, it is pretty good, not perfect.  This is one place that Android sure has iThings beat.

Are there any other email clients for the iPad then Mail or a browser? I find Mail very cumbersome and prefer to use my laptop for it.
