How are you "dragging it over?"
With iTunes open, click the My iPad link in the left-hand column (if you
gave your iPad a different name, that will be what appears there).
Then click the Apps link across the top, once your iPad's info shows up
in the center screen.
Once the screen which will show one of your iPad's screens and have a
list of the installed apps, scroll way down and there will be another
list of apps which you can transfer files back and forth between iPad
and computer. Scroll down until Overdrive appears and click on it.
The list of any books you currently have installed should appear in the
panel to the right, along with a button to "Add" -- click that and then
navigate to where your odm book file is on your computer and select that
and it should be imported into Overdrive for you.
Or, you might be able to use DropBox -- drag the odm file into your
Dropbox folder on your computer, open Dropbox on your ipad and then
select that odm file. Dropbox will most likely say "unable to open
[filename]" but that's okay, click the "Send To" link in the upper right
of the screen and any apps which can open odm files should be in the
list, which would hopefully include Overdrive. Select that and the file
will be transferred into Overdrive. Once that's accomplished, you can
delete the file from the dropbox folder on your computer.
