Re: [iPad] incessant Yahoo password requests for iOS devices

Is this unique to me?

I've had something similar in the past.  I suspect you're right, that it's a possibly unintentional result of their making changes.

Recently, I've had mail bounce from two or three different yahoo groups to which I belong, with a you-are-not-a-member-of-this-group message.  Maybe they're overextended, losing control of their programs.

I have been receiving requests to enter my Yahoo password daily  for what seems like at least several weeks.

I enter the password and all is fine until the next day.  They even send emails to my alternate Gmail address and my Yahoo address telling me that I just signed into my iPhone or my iPad. I don't recall receiving password requests on my iMac.

One thing that I can think of that is related to this is that Yahoo has my account listed as a business account; not sure why that is. They have been sending me notices that their business accounts are being switched to Aabaco Small Business. I do not have a business. All this started about the time they were sending me numerous notices that I had to join Aabaco.

Yahoo will not discuss this small business matter by email but will do so by telephone.  I spoke with someone and at the end of an exasperating conversation I believe he said that he would fix it.  He spoke English but with a difficult accent for me and my Philadelphia accent seemed difficult for him. I still receive notices to sign up for Aabaco and pay the fee so I guess he did nothing.  I have never paid anything to Yahoo but he seemed to think that I did.

I don't know that it matters but I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 9.1 and an iPad mini 2 running iOS 9.1

I also have had a long term issue of receiving mail that seems intended for people with an email address similar to mine.  Most does not look like spam. many moons ago before texting I used Yahoo instant messenger and there would be occasional confusion between me and a gentleman in Australia plus one other person.

Is this unique to me?

I am thinking of dropping my Yahoo mail accounts that I have had since the 1990's but I don't want to screw up my group memberships.

Thanks,

Bobb
