I have the new one. I don't care for the new remote. My fine motor skills are not as good as they used to be I find using the scroll circle almost impossible. Then I can't seem to get my apple password put in. It's too darn sensitive and if will put in two number when I just needed one. Because Apple will lock my password if it has too many tries I just have given up. I was trying to get into the settings and couldn't manage it. This is true even using the old remote.
I'm not at all fond of the tv shows not displaying each episode in list form. They start at season one and I can't read the names or descriptions.. So I open NCIS and the first season displays and I have to scroll all the way thru 14 seasons to get to the show I want.
I'll get used to that but it's not as clear or as easy to locate a show with the new design.

Elsewhere Ive read that entering text using the remote is terrible, the Remote app which is great, is not supporting the new ATV, search is poor, categories are non existent, I think that has had some attention. There are only 8 countries that can use Siri. Why? I am in NZ, my iDevices have Siri, I have NZ English Siri, whats up with that?

Its unfinished, plain and simple.

However, it does promise a lot that it will eventually deliver.

You mean comparatively like the first iPod? First iPhone? First apps watch? Unfinished like those? This is the first that the Apple TV is out of the hobby category.. I didn't think the first awesome hard drive having Apple TV was unfinished but if you say so. I didn't think the first streaming black puck Apple TV was unfinished. But the new one does more. To each their own. I don't think it's unfinished.
