Re: [iPad] Apple TV

I don't think "unfinished" is the right word, nor is "unpolished."  I think that, just as we humans are (hopefully) continually growing and adapting, so are our electronic devices.  Nobody and nothing are born, created, or made perfectly finished.  If we were, who would need progress?  There is always something better around the corner.  I have never forgotten the comment one of my college chemistry professors made when some student was talking about reaching perfection.  "There is no such thing as perfection, so just forget about it.  You may try to reach it, but never think you will attain it."  Of all the products and brands I have used through the years, Apple has been the one who has given me the most pleasure, the most usefulness, and the best all-round experience.  I have yet to buy an Apple product that feels unfinished.  I have had some that definitely felt like a first-generation product that I was sure would evolve into something even more fantastic than it already was, though, a good example being the Apple Watch.  I have also had Apple products that I wished had certain features that they didn't, and subsequent models did.  But that, in my view, doesn't mean that they were "unfinished" or "unpolished" when I bought them.  It does mean, though, that as soon as they are on the shelves they are, in a sense, already out of date thanks to all the improvements, changes, and modifications that are being made on a daily basis.  I guess we have to trust Apple that they are putting out products that, while already "out of date," are the best that can be produced at the moment and that they know will be useful, enjoyable, and will last for a reasonable amount of time.  Look at how many people are still using the iPhone 4 and still loving it, as just one example.

I just got the new Apple TV and really like it.  It will be a while before I master all the things it has to offer, though.

Its a bit unfinished, and unlike Apple, the experience is unpolished.
