I have the new Apple TV and this article is very correct. In fact I might have written it myself.
I am not particularly worried about the low number of apps right now. That will change quickly. It is, however, travesty that Apple's own remote app does not work. I can understand wanting people to have to use the Siri based new remote. But trying to type your information using it is Painful. It really was not necessary to not update remote app for that purpose.

I expect that in due course Apple will bring back either the remote app or ability to use a Bluetooth keyboard. I also believe that they will make searching the tvOS store easier. I also think that they may end up allowing users to create folders for their TV apps.
I do recommend the product, as it has actually exceeded my expectations. I'm hoping that Apple will remove the 200 MB restriction on app data in the near future.
