That is great news, Alice! Can you tell me how to text to an Android user through iMesage on my iPad? My iPad has a cell plan (verizon) and wifi.
Pat, my iPad does have a cellular plan. Just seems so weird to me that it would be this difficult to text between an iPad and an Android.I think it only works if you have an iPhone or cellular iPad.Pat
Sent from my iPad Air2Same here, that option doesn't exist for me in settings/messages. Would welcome any other solution suggestions! I have looked online without really finding a good answer.I don't have that option. All I have in messages is IMessage. I am running 9.0.2I would also like to be able to text via iPad to my android friends.

When I put in a phone number for an Android phone, the number turns red, and the send button is greyed out. Surely there must be a way to communicate from an non-phone Apple device to an Android.
