I like the old definition of Artificial Intelligence ( given in my first text book of AI by Elaine Rich)
"AI is trying to make computers do thing where currently Humans do better than computers".
This is an evergreen definition.
From that point of view, AI will always have targets to attain.
If computers can play better chess, they still lag behind humans in game of Go.

> Artificial intelligence and voice recognition are baby technologies, and the immaturity shows painfully in halting attempts, like Siri, to make them commercially viable.
True artificial intelligence doesn't exist, and may never.
Expert systems are getting better and better.
Voice recognition has been in daily use in business (specifically, in medicine, which I know about) for years.
