Hi: not sure if I am recalling the issue correctly, but if you have a problem as a result of updating, then Apple should offer support for that problem.

Carol....I'm curious about your suggestion. If we upgrade our OS on our computers, we can get customer support on other devices as well? I doubt I will be installing El Cap any time soon, but I didn't know we could get that kind of support. Will keep that in mind for sure!
