Somebody finally figured out where you can stick your Apple Pencil
When Apple enthusiastically introduced to the Apple Pencil in September, it left out one little detail – where we are supposed to put it.
SteelConnect, a company known for designing smart watch accessories, has come up with with a pencil holder that connects to the new iPad Pro. The Quarter provides a way to store the pencil, dock it in a ready position or keep the cap from getting misplaced while the pencil is charging elsewhere.
Apple users are used to a neatly designed, self-contained products, like the iPhone, but the introduction of a pencil as a companion to the iPad Pro – both products should be in our hands next month – disrupts what and how we carry accessories. Pens and pencils get lost easily and, quite honestly, we don't care when they go missing.
But at $99, you don't want to misplace the Apple Pencil. SteelConnect hopes to ship by December.
The Quarter is currently featured on Kickstarter, where SteelConnect will provide it to Early Bird backers for $8.
The Quarter plugs into the charging port. It can hold the pencil flat across the top of the iPad for easy storage. There is also another opening that lets you dock the pencil upright. The iPad Pro's charging cord can also be threaded through the plug while still providing a place for the pencil to rest.
When it's time for the pencil to charge, the Quarter has a place for the cap so that it is less likely to get misplaced.
