Eider:Sigh. If only to stay aware of the eider tech landscape, Windows - and Linux et al. - ought to be part of our knowledge base. Looks as tho the Surface is breaking new ground in regions where Apple's decided not to go. Definitely worth watching.A propos of new ground, I just got a new Chromecast dongle, and I like it very much. Very different approach from that of Apple and Roku and the other streamer boxes. At $35, trying it is a no-brainer:Also, have a look at this (and others like it, I suppose):Videostream Mobile for Chromecast — Cast videos, music, and photos from your computer to Chromecast by VideostreamReally cool. Download some long hi-def youtube videos to your big computer, to eliminate the ads and the streaming stutter. I imagine you'll need a pretty fast modem connection, but if it works for you, it's beautiful.. Try at least a full-screen image - 1080, 3840 - whatever's appropriate for your television.Whenever Windows or MS is mentioned it gets bagged, my mentioning if it was however relative to the topic in hand

Expected insults?~KLM\\ "Antisocial behavior is a trait of intelligence in a world full of conformists" ~Nikola Tesla //I think Windows does that now, you can plug in a Windows 10 phone into a monitor or suchlike, as Windows 10 is everywhere or so the ad goes. Thats one benefit of a full OS being on a phone and tablet. And before the expected insults come, it does work well, so I'm told

Think about it.. There used to be a computer and as teen and two inputs first just keyboard then a mouse was added. Then Steve combined the computer and screen and hid the computer. Awesome right? First in a bulky crt. Then less bulky gumdrop. The hidden behind the flat panel. Desktop.Okay. Then thinkhow mobile went. First it was wow mobile. Then it got smaller. Then he combined it all. Computer hidden behind the screen and screen being an input. Voice control is becoming better. My iPhone 6s outperforms a low end MacBook. That's mobile but think desktop. We still have the low end being a Mac mini. What if they took the guts and hid it in the mouse? It easily could be done. The iPhone would fit in there. Want a screen and no touch screen so you can do real work anywhere? This is it right? Plus with Siri maybe you wouldn't even need a keyboard?Thoughts?~KLM\\ "Antisocial behavior is a trait of intelligence in a world full of conformists" ~Nikola Tesla //
