Re: [iPad] Re: Texting from an iPad to an Android

Google voice offers free texting. I use that when I don't have a cell phone connection.

Thanks, Sandra...I have tried text free too in the past, but it was just one more app to keep tabs on.  I was really hoping the iMessage could work with both Apple users and Android users, but I guess not (at least for those of us without an iPhone).

Thanks for the suggestion, but using the Android user's email address did not work either.

Try texting to their email address instead of their phone number.

Is it possible to text from an iPad to an Android using IMessage? If so, how? When I put in a phone number for an Android phone, the number turns red, and the send button is greyed out. Surely there must be a way to communicate from an non-phone Apple device to an Android.
