No, it didn't hurt "mobile industry" — it introduced a product which the marketplace preferred to existing products, and that market shift hurt some providers within the industry.

2. Polaroid's peak employment was in 1978, and its peak revenue was in 1991. Canon has been producing 35mm cameras since the 1930's, and SLR's since around 1958.
