Just Curious are they trying to sell you something or get info from you?

David, I really don't know. I've been reading them on my iPad on which I don't have any malware-detecting software, so I've been loathe to go to any of the links on the mails. I've just looked at their addresses without going there. The mails are likely looking to get you to go to a site of their choosing and either collect data from your computer after going there or ask for confidential information like Facebook login data. The mails' supposed intent is to tell you that you've been tagged in a photo a friend posted to Facebook so you'll hit one of the false links provided and go where they want you to go to "look at the photo."
