Re: [iPad] Why Apple Music Missed a Beat

Television I can see, unlike cars.  Television's entertainment, and entertainment is already largely in the home, on the seventy-inch 4K screen (soon to be a hundred-inch 8K).  Like cell phones, seventy-inch UHD screens are affordable by *lots* of people.  Apple has simply to invent and build one of the few best streamers possible.  One thing Apple knows and, more importantly, is strongly committed to, is excellent user interface.  A relatively small investment in a superior programming funnel can pay off big for them here.

Cars, nah.  Whoever's pushing that one ought to be put out to pasture.  They could *partner* with someone - they're already doing that, in a small way - but going whole hog would be crazy.  I think :o)

You are right. Did anyone say they can't make a phone? However a car is different. If Apple made their own car from scratch , never happen. They could buy say Kia, rebrand. But it's not about the car it's about the software. Take tv. It's a tough business . But why make a tv in a tough business when you just need to make the set top box that does it all? The tv is an expensive, low profit hardware that people don't upgrade very often. If the atv4 does it all, the Rv is just a dumb screen leave it to panny and Samsung to scramble over the crumbs while apple aims to "own" every Tv screen via the atv4. That's how I see the car

I remember a time when it was said that Apple cannot start making phones because they know nothing about phones. How well  did that  prediction turn out?
