What I find, is that if you upgrade every year, which I have done since the 4S, (but not bothering this year) is that when you sell a one year old iPhone, you get a great price. So the real cost of the upgrade is probably one third retail or less

The best reason to get rid of a six plus may be that you feel an urgent need to spend the better part of a thousand dollars right now.
It seems like everyone is getting a new iPhone. I have the gold 6 plus that just came out last. I don't see much difference to trade up. Am I missing something? Or should I get the new phone? I thank you for any insights
