20 years back, no one could have dreamt that speech recognition by a processor which is hand held, could be possible.
My professor told me that it would need a computer which will occupy a room.
Isn't Siri a magic from that point.
What makes you think that new magic can not happen?

Certainly, there will be little improvements - lane watch, adaptive cruise control, avoidance of collisions with the car directly in front of you, and so forth. But from there to "self-driving" cars is light years.
