It's easy to want to place the blame only on one person. I think as humans we are wired that way. But in reality, it is a whole team. If I remember correctly Jony Ive is now the chief of designer they lead of design, he has moved up one position since Steve Jobs died. But certainly if Tim Cook is a good leader he is OK accepting all the blame for whatever wrong decisions the company, the whole of Apple, has made. Good leaders are like that. The rest is sure a team of people is making these decisions, not just one man, Tim Cook.

Personally, I can see many reasons why the company may be thinking about a car. Apple is known for taking complex situations and making a more of a simple product. All of the MP3 players before the iPod did more and even help more songs some of them did but none of them offer the ease-of-use and simplicity and elegance and iPod as a solution. The same thing for personal digital systems. And many more things. I can see how an automobile would be one of those things. Right now it is a very complex endeavor, to drive an automobile. In fact, if I were to guess, I would guess that 90% of the individuals that I work with cannot drive a stick shift. I know for a fact that 98% of the citizens of Washington state cannot drive in the rain, let alone snow! Hey self driving automobile could solve all of these problems. If they could come to market with a solution faster than tesla or faster than Google, then they win the prize of lots of money. Just like they won the prize a lot of money with the iPad and the iPhone and the iPod. Just because I think they should double the battery size on the iPhone 6 and work solely on battery solutions does not mean that is the best thing for a company to do. After all, I am just a dork with an iPhone, Tim Cook, while he may be making mistakes, he is the man that Steve Jobs left in charge of Apple Inc. Handpicked. The team of people that is in place now are, more than likely, making well informed and educated decisions about the best direction for the company to proceed. I would hazard to guess that they know much more about running the largest corporation in the world than I do. Presumably much more than you do also.

Who decides to use non 100% compliant wifi?
Who decides to not have VLAN 10 tagging on the Airports so they can't be used on fibre to the ONT as many ISP's use VLAN tagging?

Oh, and who decides to change settings when they update iOS??? Thats a tad annoying

But on a lighter note, no one from Android complains about non user replaceable battery now, as most manufacturers are doing that, and non additional memory via SD slots. Cutting costs, shoulda done that years ago!
