"Fine" is relative.  My Honda Accord is fine, too, but if I judged it by BMW standards, it wouldn't be.  My new Apple standard is Air 2 performance.

My 5S has an A7.
iOS 8, 8.0.1, 8.0.2, 8.1, 8.1.1, and now 8.1.2 have all run fine on this phone.

Also on my iPad 4.
