hi all,thanks to everyone who responded to my dilemma about contacts and capabilities missing from my ipad4 contacts app...it's sorted now...the problem (as shown in the screencap here) was each time i opened the app all i saw is what's shown...it shows a search from at least a year ago that yielded nothing...in that mode, you can see or do nothing else...all i had to do to restore everything to normalcy was end the search by clicking on the X that's within the search box...duh!...if i'd posted this image in the first place i think someone immediately would have recognized the problem.
