Maybe this tip from an Apple discussion forum will help:
The Calendar app on the iPad is one of the apps that came with the iPad. So it was originally on your first Home page. The icon is white with the day in red and the date in large black numbers inside the white box.
If you can't find it, swipe down from the middle of your Home page and a search bar will appear at the top, type Calendar, and it will appear in the list, touch it to open it.
When Calendar opens you will see the word "Calendars" in red at the bottom of the screen in the middle. Touch this. A pop-up will appear with a list of calendars. Touch one of the holiday ones to deselect it - the checkmark will go away. Touch the red Done in the upper right corner of the pop-up screen
You're done.

The national holidays are tripled for each one and it is annoying. I have tried deleting them but they come right back. I cannot delete and re-install because of it being pre-installed. I have tried other calendars but can't really find one I like. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?
Thanks.
