Hello everyone! I hope you are well! Sorry I have not stopped by much.
In June I upgraded from my iPad mini original to the subject retina mini. Mostly because I wanted to use the iPad to back up my camera cards whilst on vacation. I bought the wifi only model because I do now have the iPhone 5c AND my iPod touch. Did not think it necessary for more overkill.
In the places where we had free wifi it worked well in connecting to networks and the Internet.
Upon returning home, when I was going to actually start using it on a daily basis, I noticed it would not connect to my hotspot. I use this at work everyday to get my own stuff at lunch, etc. cannot connect personal devices to company network, which I am in total agreement with.
I took it to the Apple Store about 4 times! Each person I talked to did something, it would work for a little while, then bam, same issue. The last time the guy traded units, gave me a $20 credit back on the iPad AND gave me a $50 gift card. Very nice. It connects to the home wifi, after my husband disconnected some Apple thing in the network. But, still no connection to my hotspot.
So the other day I decided to go to Verizon and see about turning my iPhone 5c into a hot spot. That way at least I would be carrying one less item.
So I explain the issue and tell the guy that I do not want to change if it doesn't work, I want to test it first. He tells me that the plan I now have is no longer offered and that as soon as he changes to the hot spot, my old plan is gone and I cannot go back to it.
So his personal phone, Android, is set up for a hot spot and we tried to connect the retina iPad to it. Does not work. (Through all of this he is trying to sell me on the idea of getting another iPad through them. What?!). (My phone connected but not the retina)
Needless to say, I did not change my phone to a hot spot.
Just to let you know that all my other iPads, iPod touch and iPhone 5c hook up to my sprint hot spot easily and quickly with no issues at all.
Has any one else had this issue? Have I discovered a glitch? A bug?
I also note on the retina that I need to "touch" it more firmly than my other iPad products.
I am still using my original iPad mini. But I really need the extra gigs.
Thanks in advance for your help!
