I want to second this thought. I am not saying commercials are the only way but it is chief current way. If we don't give the shows a way to make money we won't have the shows. With Netflix we pay them and they pay to the show's creators.

How else do you think your shows get made, if not with the money earned
from selling commercials? Those actors don't work for free and neither
do the writers, composers, tech crews, etc. I'm glad you have it worked
out that you can enjoy the shows for free.
Personally, I feel life's too short to worry about a few minutes of
commercials, especially when they guarantee the future of the shows I
like to watch. There are far more important things in my life to worry
about and spend time trying to alleviate.
