Don't Gmail have an app to get their mail?

I should have elaborated: Mine does this quite often when I open Gmail through Safari, and when I try to watch a video on Fox News. It rarely if ever happens in other apps or news sites. Only when loading Gmail and only when watching a Fox News video (not just my local affiliate, either.) Even typing this post has been a pain because every few letters, it stops typing and then 'catches up'. I just adapt :)

I was at my daughter's home last night and we were discussing something about the iPad. She asked if my iPad had started exiting an App and going back to the home screen. I told her it had done that several times. I have a feeling it has something to do with the new iOS Upgrades that Apple has been pushing all of us into. Any comments would be appreciated or if you know of a solution, I'd sure like to hear it.Thanks,
