You have Private Browsing turned on. To turn it off:
1. Click on the + sign (to add a new tab).
2. Click on the word "Private" in the bottom left corner.
I'm only answering because I turned it on recently and didn't know what happened, except web pages weren't saving any of my info... and my title/search bar was all black.

Hmm....
I can't see any way to make that disappear. There's got to be a way, but I sure haven't figured it out yet either.
