Re: [iPad] New iPad/David

LOL!!!  I've done that on occasion, too!   And by the way, I can see your point about highlighting on the Kindles.  It's a heck of a lot easier on an iPad!

Oh, I do like it.  Just complaining on principle :o)

That^s a shame you don't like it better.  I'm really quite happy with mine.  I didn't actually expect to like it this much, either.

Yes, the new Paperwhite, sans ads, sans 3G.  Fast enough, possibly, but it feels awkward, slow.  Different perspectives.  Since there's effectively no competition, they have little incentive to improve it, alas.

Do you have the new PaperWhite, David?  I don't find it slow and klunky at all, but I do agree with you that one made by Apple could be mouth watering!  <thrilled.gif>

I've been experimenting with e-ink - Nook with glow-light (?) and Kindle Paperwhite.  The form factor, weight, and  reflective screen are substantial improvements over weighty flashlight-in-your-face tablets, but the Nook and the Kindle are terribly slow and klunky.  I imagine Apple's decided to stay out of this market, but if they entered it, the result could be mouth-watering.

Maybe you could buy the first iPad that had the 128 GB, David, whatever number that one is (4?), and get a good price.  I have it and love it.  The larger memory makes all the difference in the world for me.  I feel the same as you, not needing the other features of the new one.

I just read a summary of the new features of the iPad5 (or whatever they
want to call it) and there's nothing that I read which will make me want
to jump from my iPad4, unless I can afford the 128GB model (dubious in
today's economy) in order to store more of my digitized sheet music.
