Re: [iPad] Re: iPad forum?

I think the S4 has retina scan or a function thats supposed to follow your eyes. Camera based so I dunno if that works on previous models or if its any good. If Apple did do air gestures I'd really like that, and wouldn't be backwards compatible, same as any camera hardware updates that added new camera functions. Having had a sticky iphone 5 home button causing a replacement I am probably air gesture biased but would be useful. Also keeo screen cleaner. probbaly reduce battery life

C'mon, Apple isn't releasing a new iPhone with unknown iOS 7 functionality that the iPhone 5 can't handle, unless it's tied to a new hardware feature.

Air gestures... I'd rather have retina scan. lol

I wasnt suggesting that actually. Everyone is incremental now for the reasons you state. I was just sayiong that for these reasons I am unlikely to upgrade. The OS talks to me much more these days than the hardware.

If however it was a bit more than the expected, and iOS7 was a bit more than expected, who knows.  I like the air gesture function that is useful if done right.

I expect the resurrected jobs will announce all new iPads will come with moon ponies and then you'll see wow

But seriously. Do you really expect the breakneck speed of new devices can be infinitely maintained? I think not. If they can pull off another they'll already be like no other tech company in history. Wait. They already are.

What game changers have Samsung done lately? Hrm what game changers or new products have google done? Smash hits? No one? Oh wait but apple has had several since 2001. Cuz lets just keep it to this century.

Seriously.. Every other iPhone has been a point upgrade not a full stop change. So. Duh. So will ths one. It's not gonna be the six that's next year!  I don't even think the iPad has had a wow upgrade unless you count the mini.

Anyway. I guess ive been saying this sorta stuff on my box beating my drum since 2001. i feel a little  grumpy. :-p
Cheers all..

I agree fully. If the 5S has a fingerprint sensor thats not of great interest. Better CPU/GPU isnt either. Same with camera.  I did read last night that there is talk of air gestures, something Ives likes. Samsung has that but its isnt that well implemented, and some functuiions arent reliable. If Apple dos that, does it properly and focusses on a USEFUL  feature, rather than a feature for a features sake, that could be good. Improve iOS.  All of these things arent a big deal, but together they can be more compelling

I have been an annual upgrader. I struggle to see me doing that this year.

There doesn't seem to be any new innovation at Apple anymore. Small improvements on the same old stuff is all I expect.
