Not everyone can or wants to depend on the cloud *all the time* for content.
It can also cost you plenty if you don't have wifi access and need to use
cell-service.

Not everyone, even if they can, wants to put (i.e. upload and pay storage
for) their personal content &/or content-not-from-iTunes (or other major
supplier with a free-cloud for their content) in the cloud, let alone have
to d/l it each time for access.

Local storage is -- always there, fast, and easy.

It's a whole lot easier and faster to "pack" your device locally than to d/l
while you're out & about (which may cost plenty) or even just staying home
(which costs only time & convenience).

What's the appeal of 128GB?

So long as apps and data can always be brought down from the cloud, why keep
tons of stuff locally?
