I wonder what their reasoning is in changing the appearance of the icons.
Certainly it can't be simply to emulate Windows8, especially since Win8
isn't such a huge success. I wonder if changing the appearance of the
icons helps improve battery life (can't understand why it would, but
then I don't understand a lot about this technology) or if they occupy
less storage space and therefore make more space available for other
purposes and/or simply speed up things.
In any event, trading elegance for boredom certainly doesn't sound like
an easily made decision.
