And if Android had taken that attitude, "if any Android user wants what
iOS has, switch to iOS," then Android would have no market share at all.
And iOS would have no competition and therefore no impetus to improve.
Competition in any field usually results in all competing products
either adapting what is better in the competition's product or dying.
And for those products which survive they are all made better by
incorporating the competition's better ideas. Up to a certain point and
then the marketplace becomes a matter of simply choosing one over the
other by non-technical criteria (this one fits my pocket better, this
one suits my color choices better) since they all do exactly the same
thing because they've all adopted each others' ideas.
