There's a Wi-Drive app, but I access everything through Safari because the app can't playback iTunes Store protected videos. I go into Settings/Wi-Fi and connect to the Wi-Drive, since it creates its own wireless network. Then I just type in 192.168.200.254 into a Safari URL and it brings up the folder structure of the drive. You can play movies that you click on or look at pictures and copy them to the Camera Roll. (So no, you don't use this device to directly copy movie files or pictures from it to an iPad/iPhone.)
On the PC side, the only thing I did was hook the drive up to my computer via USB. Created a folder called Movies and a folder called Pictures, just like you can do with any external USB drive. I dragged the movies from my iTunes folder and the picture folders from My Pictures.

The way you talk about it, it sounds simple for such purposes.. Can you
elaborate a bit on how it works? Not the inner workings of the
Wi-Drive, but more how you transfer the data from wi-drive to iPad for
display?
