Do not believe the Verizon version will work for you overseas as most
countries us GSM instead of Verizon's CDMA cellular system.
The new iPad 3 may have ways of using either system or ??. Even if
usable overseas you may find using the cellular/data very expensive.
You will need to study seriously and learn if you should do special
settings like turn off Data Roaming, Cellular Roaming, etc.

Besides this group, check apple.com forums and search for internet articles.

Many have taken their iPads overseas and enjoyed greatly, but there are
some special steps.
