A few OS-related folders have been hidden from casual browsing in Lion, probably in an effort to keep beginners from destroying their own systems with a click and a drag.
As a beta tester, though, you should have no problem re-gaining access. Dan Frakes assembled a list of 19 ways to do it last week. I like the alias and sidebar methods, since they don't modify anything permanently and can be easily added/removed.
