Probable over driven server sending and probable slow internet on your side.
It took me 3 trys at it last time. My internet is slow.
Here's some tips that I do on my PC:
(1) It's a good idea to right click itunes in your program list (in control panel) and click 'repair'.
This in the past has messed up the download for me. (don't ask me why...)
Do this before you click for the itunes update. It doesn't hurt to do this. Cheap insurance
(2) Download only...don't do the download and install. After the download is complete (probably in the morning), click Update...itunes will find the downloaded file so nothing to do there but hit the Update button on the itunes screen. Cheap insurance
(3) Turn off any timed sleep or screen savers. Cheap insurance
(4) Go to bed...it may take hours...
(5) If it should bust...repeat until done. Like I said...took me 3 trys.
